  • Report + Support: Report + Support is an online safe space reporting tool where students, learners, staff and visitors can report incidences of bullying or harassment anonymously or with contact details. More FAQ’s are available.

  • Student Support Team: There are four faculty-aligned Student Support Teams (SSTs) that contribute to supporting you throughout your OU journey. The team will focus on the student experience and will work collaboratively to enable you to progress through your learning and achieve your study goals. 
    • They are there to talk to you and provide advice with regards to any concerns that you have.

  • Tutor: Your tutor will be available for you to seek advice and help with resolving the unwanted behaviour or concerns you are experiencing.

  • School Director (if at residential school): If you’re at a residential school then please speak to your school director if you have any concerns of unwanted behaviour or you need support or advice.

  • Disability Support: For advice about the services and support available for students with a disability and/or additional needs contact the team for your nation.
    • They will be able to talk you through what options are available, how to tell us about a disability and what to expect after.

  • TalkCampus: TalkCampus provides a safe, totally anonymous online space to air concerns with other students and get support for your mental health and wellbeing. It’s available to you 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

  • OU Wellbeing App: OU Wellbeing App is an app that provides you with the tools to start building healthy, positive habits into your everyday life you can build your own tailored self-care programme, access podcasts, articles and wellbeing tools.
    • You can download the OU Wellbeing App on iOS or Google Play and register using your work email.

  • SHOUT: SHOUT is a free, confidential, 24/7 text messaging support service for anyone who is struggling to cope and needs immediate support. Just TEXT the word OU to 85258 (please do not use Whatsapp).
    • Shout’s text message support service is anonymous and available 24/7. The service is available to anyone in the UK and it won’t show up on your phone bill. Trained volunteers can help with issues including anxiety, abuse, loneliness, self-harm and suicide, they are there for you 24/7 to listen and support you to get to a calmer and safer place. Find out about our partnership with Shout and how it works.

  • Open University Students Association: The Students Association will support any member who feels they are struggling with unwanted behaviours or need advice on how to address concerns.

  • Open University Students Association Support Groups: At the Association, we have some great groups which are here to support students throughout their Open University journey. These groups are here to offer support and advice, as well as to campaign to the Open University on topics which are important to you. It's a great way to connect with fellow students too.
